A life-long Maine resident, Dozier Bell was born in Lewiston in 1957. She went on to receive a B.A. from Smith College and an M.F.A. from the University of Pennsylvannia. Throughout her distiniguished career, she has received numerous awards and grants, including a Fulbright Grant in 1995 to study in Germany.

Most recently, she has produced solo exhibitions at the DFN Gallery in New York and the Chase Gallery in Boston. She is represented by Aucocisco Galleries in Portland, Maine.
