 In
2002 Correa’s Cartesian Dioramas was displayed at
the Santander Cultural Center in the city of Porto Alegre. The series
was inspired by animals found in the Amazon and concerns with the
evolution of species and the scientific description of animals,
though most of the animals consisted of a mixture of different species
that seem likely to exist. The Diorama was then divided
into individual species to be described in terms of their internal
structure, habits, habitat and other features to fully describe
their hybrid existence as plausible. Then he began work on the skeleton
series where he revealed the inner surface of his species, their
bone structure in full detail and richly explained. These works
were in the 2003 exhibition Perverse Nature, held at the
Estate Museum of Rio Grande do Sul – Ado Malagoli.
