Chapter 9: UNUS NAUTA (Adjectives in -ius)

• There are 9 irregular adjectives of the 1st and 2nd declension. They are called the UNUS NAUTA adjectives. UNUS NAUTA is a combination of the first letters of these 9 adjectives.
  
  
• In the singular, UNUS NAUTA adjectives imitate the pattern of ille by ending in --ius in the Genitive and --i in the Dative. Everywhere else they follow the normal pattern of the 1st and 2nd declension.
  
  
  

  Special -ius Adjectives (Latin and English):

  ünus, a, um - one
  nüllus, a, um - no, none
  üllus, a, um - any
  sölus, a, um - alone, only
  neuter, neutra, neutrum - neither
  alius, -a, -ud - another, other
  uter, utra, utrum - either, which (of two)
  tötus, a, um - whole, entire
  alter, altera, alterum - the other (of two)
  
  
  

  Declension of Special -ius Adjectives:

  tötus	töta	tötum
  tötïus	tötïus	tötïus
  tötï	tötï	tötï
  tötum	töta	tötum
