The fourth declension is mercifully easier than the third - but a bit wacky. It is characterized by the vowel "u." The genitive singular, however, is always "üs." You must memorize the nominative and genitive because masculine and feminine fourth declension nouns take their nominative in "us" (and thus easily confused with masculine nouns of the second declension).
