Chapter 2: Gender and
Adjectives
- Both nouns and adjectives have gender.
There are three possible genders: Masculine, Feminine and
Neuter. It is important to memorize the gender of every noun
and adjective in addition to their meaning.
- The gender of Latin words has nothing to do with sex or
sexuality. Words that one might assume are masculine actually have a
feminine gender. "Fatherland" is a feminine noun, for example.
- The reason why it is important to memorize the
gender of nouns and adjectives is because they must
agree
in a sentence.
