Latin 101

2 Termination Adjectives

Adjectives of 2 terminations (e.g., fortis, forte) use third declension i-stem endings for masc/fem nouns (e.g. cïvis, cïvis, m./f.) for forms modifying masc and fem nouns and third declension i-stem neuter nouns (e.g. mare, maris, n.) to modify neuter nouns. E.g. - "brave citizen, brave animal).

Note, in the ablative singular m/f, adjs of 2 terms take an ending in "ï" (not 'e', as you would expect from the 3rd decl i-stem paradigm for masc/fem nouns (i.e., cïve, näve).
