3rd Declension i-stem nouns differ from the 3rd Declension nouns introduced in Chapter 7 because they show an 'i' in certain case endings.
- All 3rd Declension i-stem nouns have a Genitive Plural ending in -ium.
- The Neuters have an Ablative Singular ending of -ï instead of -e .
- In the Neuter Nominative, Accusative and Vocative Plural they end in -ia instead of -a.
Nötä bene: These nouns are another example of why it is important to memorize both the Nominative and Genitive Singular forms of the nouns.
