Chapter 10: 4th Conjugation and 3rd Conjugation -iöVerbs
- Present and Imperative
-
The formation of the Imperatives in the 4th Conjugation
and in the 3rd Conjugation -io verbs is the same as the 1st and 2nd Conjugations:
the singular is the present stem and the plural is the present stem plus
-te.
E.g. 4th Conjugation: audïre - audï/re
= audï; audï + te = audïte
-
With the 3rd Conjugation -io verbs, the short "i" takes
the place of the "e" in the plural imperative
3rd Conjugation -io: capere - cape/re = cape; cape
+ i + te = capite
