Its Beginnings:

The construction of this website began in the Summer of 2004 as a project undertaken by the Collaborative Technological Development, a summer fellowship program sponsored and supported by the Information and Library Services at Bates College. The project managers, Regan Richards and Greg Struve, approached serveral faculty members at Bates Colleges to consider possible websites. Margaret Imber, a professor in the Classical and Medieval department and Classical and Romance Languages, proposed a project that involved creating an online quizzing tool for her introductory Latin classes. Now, of course part of the collaboration on this project involved a student. Let's say they caught me, Amanda Seadler, at a weak moment and I agreed to sign on to the project. The project development began in the summer 2004.

Well surprise my friends, I am back for a second summer 2005.

Navigating the Site:

We designed with functionality and accessiblity in mind. We wanted you, the student, to easily jump from chapter to chapter. At the top of each chapter homepage, you will find a navigation bar with the chapter numbers. Simply click on the number of the chapter, and you will jump to the homepage of that chapter. For your convenience, we also included the quiz instructions link on every chapter homepage, located on the left nagivation bar. We encourage you to review the quiz instructions several times prior to taking your first quiz.
