Concept Review:

Chapter Seven introduces the Third Declension Nouns. The Third Declension includes nouns in all three genders, unlike the First and Second Declensions. The (-is) ending in the Genitive marks the Third Declension.

Important points to remember. When learning your vocabulary learn both the Nominative and Genitive forms for nouns. For Third Declension nouns, to find the stem or base of the word drop the Genitive Singular Ending (-is).

Feminine and Masculine nouns in the Third Declension have the same endings. Neuter nouns, however, have a different set of endings. For form reviews, please refer to pages 43-44 and/or page 446.
