Major Requirements
The current requirements for a major in
biology are listed in the catalog. Majors must satisfy the requirements
listed in the catalog under which they matriculate. The college
catalog is now published in hardcopy only every two years. Annual
updates are made only to the on-line catalog.
Advanced
Placement Biology (AP) Credit Policy
Students with AP biology credit (scores
of 4 or 5) may opt out of taking Biology
101 (the first required core biology course) only with
permission of the current AY Bio 101 instructor of record,
and an affirmation by the Chair of the Department of Biology.
Students granted permission receive unassigned college credit.
Note that this does not reduce the total number of biology
courses required for the major.

Course Offerings
A 2-3 year projection of courses the department
will teach is updated annually early in the fall semester to
help with your planning. These projections are tentative and
subject to change without notice, so please check every semester
in case changes happen that may affect your plans.
