WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE ABSENT:
- IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THE CLASS WEB PAGE DURING ABSENCES!
In particular, please keep up with textbook
readings
and all online materials and other assignments.
- It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to e-mail me if the absence lasts
longer than a week,
or if it is anticipated in advance, or if it causes you to miss an exam or quiz.
- Missed exams and quizzes will need to be made up.
- In general, absence from class does not excuse you from passing in assignments on time.
All assignments may be submitted electronically, e.g., as an attachment to email
in the form of a .doc or .pdf file.
- In general, work not made up within a week will be penalized 20%, and
work not made up within two weeks will receive a zero.
- If you have been absent for more than a week, it is your
responsibility to e-mail me
or consult with me about making up
the missed work.
- MISSED LABORATORIES are usually difficult to make up once the materials
have been put away.
If you must miss your assigned lab section because
of illness or conflicting responsibilities, please try to attend one of the other lab sections
for that week and send me an email to let me know.
Please consult the "Lab Information" link from the class web page,
or WebAdvisor,
for information about when other lab sections meet.
- Exceptions to any course requirements, such as extended deadlines
or exemption from an assignment
or penalty, are handled on a case-by-case
basis if there is adequate reason.
Hospitalization is an
example of an adequate reason.
