A year ago, the President formed an adhoc committee to review internal communications on campus. The adhoc communications committee convened to examine the current patterns and practices of communication (particularly print and electronic) within the e mployee base. he committee was asked to review the efficiency of current practices, level of access, impact on resources and opportunities to conserve. The committee produced a report with a set of specific recommendations that are improvements in our p atterns and practices. The full report is available
online or in print (contact Laurie H. Henderson at 786-6228).Consideration was given to the environment, the budget and rationales for our current practices. While we focused only on the employee base, we do offer information that extends to communications with our students, families, alumni and other constitue nts. The committee gathered information, interviewed individuals, and provided feedback for this report. We involved many members of the community in our meetings; specifically representatives from CSA, Human Resources, Information Services, Alumni/Devel opment, Dining Services, Physical Plant, College Relations and Office Services. Representatives openly and willingly shared information with the committee and we are grateful for their participation.
