Ms. Brianna Adams '99 is interning at an adoption agency and conducting research on transnational adoption (Mulford Service-Learning Grant, Hoffman-Mellon Grant).

Mr. John Bechtold '99 is working as an intern at the Morgan Opera House, Aurora, New York (Community Work-Study Grant).

Mr. Daniel Benner '99 is working as an educational technician at the Renaissance School, a school for behaviorally-impaired children associated with St. Mary's General Hospital, Lewiston (Community Work-Study Grant).

Ms. Rachel Cymrot '00 is compiling oral histories based of women in two religious congregations in the Boston area (Mulford Service-Learning Grant).

Ms. Lisa DeMatteo '99 is working as a lab assistant and environmental educator for the Maine Department of Marine Resources in West Boothbay, Maine (Community Work-Study Grant).

Ms. Angel Drobnica '00, on behalf of the Maine Peoples Alliance, is studying the effects of industrial use of toxic material on humans and the environment (Community Work-Study Grant, Hoffman-Mellon Grant).

Ms. Abigail Francis '99 is conducting a study of the regimen adherence of children with AIDS at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center (Community Work-Study Grant).

Ms. Kimberly Garvie '01 is working as a community outreach assistant at the Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary, Lewiston (Community Work-Study Grant).

Mr. Jonathan Hagelstein '99 is conducting research on women's roles in the Japanese work force, and is teaching English as a second language at the English Seminar for Women in Kyoto, Japan (Mulford Service-Learning Grant).

Ms. M. Bridget Huber '01 is helping to design and run an environmental studies-oriented day camp for low-income youth in Lewiston and Auburn (Community Work-Study Grant).

Ms. Lien Le '99 is working on a public health project for the Portland (Maine) Housing Authority designed to improve the health and safety of young people in the city (Community Work-Study Grant).

Ms. Julie Lundman '99 is an intern with Planned Parenthood of Columbus, Ohio (Community Work-Study Grant).

Ms. Nunia Mafi '99 is conducting an internship for DARE (Direct Action for Rights and Equality), a social service organization dedicated to economic and political justice for low-income families in Providence, Rhode Island (Community Work- Study Grant, Crafts Grant, Hoffman-Mellon Grant).

Ms. Laurie McKenzie '00 is helping to design and run an environmental studies-oriented day camp for low-income youth in Lewiston and Auburn (Community Work-Study Grant).

Mr. Ethan Miller '00 is helping to design and run an environmental studies-oriented day camp for low-income youth in Lewiston and Auburn (Bates Science Education Outreach Grant).

Ms. Sara Milstein '00 is designing and undertaking TIPTOE, a poetry outreach program for children and elders in Lewiston and Auburn (Mulford Service-Learning Grant, Hoffman-Mellon Grant, Bates Student Research Grant).

Ms. Katie Norton '00 is working as a water quality assistant at the Maine Department of Marine Resources laboratory in Lamoine, Maine (Community Work-Study Grant).

Ms. Jennifer Peterson '00 is working as an information policy intern for OMB/Watch, a nonprofit organization that focuses on budget, regulatory, nonprofit advocacy, and information policy (Community Work-Study Grant).

Ms. Sylvia Rodriguez '01 is an intern with the First Care Program, which provides dental care to children of workers at the DeCoster Egg Farm in Turner, Maine (Community Work-Study Grant).

Mr. Lawson Rudasill '00 is working as a lab assistant and environmental educator for the Maine Department of Marine Resources in West Boothbay, Maine (Community Work-Study Grant).

Mr. Matthew Schlobohm '00 is helping to design and run an environmental studies-oriented day camp for low-income youth in Lewiston and Auburn (Bates Science Education Outreach Grant).

Ms. Laura Sundstrom '99 is an intern for the Diabetes Education Program of the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, New York (Community Work-Study Grant).

Mr. Adam Thompson '00 is a community outreach worker for Advocates for Children of Lewiston (Community Work-Study Grant).

Mr. Michael Travers '00 is an intern with the Maine Rural Workers Coalition, which is involved in community building and organizing workers (Mulford Service-Learning Grant).

Mr. Clifford Wilson '98 is working as a steward of the Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary in Lewiston (Community Work-Study Grant).
