Parking Committee
Chair: Leah Carr (lcarr@bates.edu)
The Parking Committee’s main responsibility is conducting the yearly parking lottery. In order for committee members to be able to remain unbiased, all eligible students seated to the Parking Committee receive an unrestricted parking permit. Furthermore, the Parking Committee is also responsible for hearing parking appeals and overseeing student parking violations, and the committee is on a constant mission to find new, potential parking space. RA approval is not required for the Parking Committee’s actions.
Student members are seated to the Parking Committee in March.

Student Committee on Committees (CoC)

The Bates College Student Government’s Vice President of Student Committees Chairs the Student Committee on Committees. The CoC is responsible for selecting students to Student-, Faculty-Student-, and certain Ad Hoc Committees, and for oversight of the same. The CoC is appointed by the Student Government’s Executive Council in February following the yearly elections of Student Government officers. The CoC may be a student committee, but is as a matter of fact established by the Faculty Governance, laid out in Article V, Section 1i of the Rules and Procedures of the Faculty as noted in the Faculty Handbook.

Fall Committees
Budget Committee

The Student Budget Committee is Chaired by the Treasurer of the Bates College Student Government (BCSG). The Committee is responsible for disbursement and oversight of the Student Activities Fund, disbursing the Student Government Co-Sponsorship Fund, auditing clubs funded by the Student Government, and approving budgets for BCSG-recognized clubs.
The Committee on Committees will not accept Budget Committee applications from members of the class of 2007.

Organizational Review Board (ORB)

The Organizational Review Board is currently co-chaired by the Vice Presidents of Student Clubs. The committee is responsible for the approval and recognition of new student clubs, and also acts as a liaison between the Bates College Student Government and all recognized student clubs.
