Borrowing by Student Assistants Applications for the Student Assistant/TA library card are available at the Circulation Desk or you can print the online form. The application must be filled out by the faculty member and signed by both the faculty member and student. Since this form requires signatures, it cannot be submitted via the web. Student assistants are issued grey library cards with a barcode which permits them to check out materials for the faculty member. This card is ONLY to be used for borrowing materials which the faculty member has specifically requested. Each student assistant will be issued a separate card for ease in keeping track of who is responsible for materials. The students will be required to present this card when borrowing for the professor; their regular Bates ID will also be required for verification.
