Library Building Policies
Food and beverages are not to be
consumed in public areas of Ladd Library.
The use of tobacco products is prohibited.
Exceptions: beverages in spill-proof containers, water in clear containers with covers, gum, and small candies which stay in the mouth.
Reasons:
- Custodians have to clean up the mess;
- Garbage attracts bugs, bugs eat paper...
- Beverages can spill onto equipment and/or books;
- Moisture spilled on books, carpets, or furniture promotes growth of mold, which is harmful to books and people alike.
Rollerblades and skateboards are prohibited.
Pets are not allowed in the library, with the exception of guide/therapy dogs for patrons with special needs.
