Congressional Support Agencies:

Congressional Budget Office (CBO)
Created in 1974, CBO provides Congress with objective, timely nonpartisan analyses to help in the Congressional budget process.

Government Accountability Office (GAO)
GAO's work involves program evaluations, policy analyses, and legal opinions and decisions on a broad range of government programs and activities both at home and abroad.

Congressional Research Service (CRS)
Provides Congress with specialized nonpartisan research and analyses by nationally-recognized experts to a wide range of issues.
