Africa South of the Sahara: an annotated guide to internet resources from the Africa Collection Hoover Library and Stanford University Library.

African Studies Internet Resources: Columbia University This site contains links arranged by African regions and by many individual countries.

African Political Resources coming from a larger site on political resources for the world, this site allows you to choose a list of politcally-based links by a particular African country.

African Government on the Web Not kept as current as one would like, this site provides links by country to more than 290 web sites produced by African political parties and official government institutions, including overseas embassies.

Center for Policy Studies An independent policy research institution that produces original and thought-provoking research on South Africa's, and the rest of Africa's policies, governance and democratisation challenges.

International IDEA Institute - (see individual country pages) The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) is an intergovernmental organization that supports sustainable democracy worldwide. Its objective is to strengthen democratic institutions and processes.

16th- Early 20th Century Maps of Africa
This site features digital copies of 113 antique maps of Africa and accompanying text dating from the mid 16th Century to the early 20th Century. All scanned maps are authentic and originally collected by the Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies (or the Africana Library) at Northwestern University.
