Purchase or Get Government Publications Free

Before ordering, you may examine a copy of a publication at a local Maine depository collection. We will help you identify what you need.

To Get FREE:
Determine what department or agency wrote the information.

Write, call, or email the department or agency for a complimentary copy, include as much detail about the publication as possible. Use U.S. Government Organization Manual or Washington Information Directory or the agency website to obtain addresses and phone numbers. Ask for the Public Affairs or Publications Dept. Look for 800 nos. Their homepage may describe how to order or request publications online.
