Ladd Library is a depository for State of Maine publications. The Maine State Library holds the archival copies of state documents (non-circulating to the public) and provides detailed research and reference service for them, as well as distributing the publications to 15 libraries throughout the state. Ladd Library has a long history of providing access to these materials.
Collection: State documents of long-lasting, curriculum-related, or of regional importance to the Lewiston/Auburn area are cataloged in Library of Congress classification, and are accessible through the Catalog. Pamphlet materials, such as newsletters, town and county annual reports, and other timely documents are filed by subject in filing cabinets (located on the ground floor of the Library), with brief records in the catalog. All State of Maine documents may circulate for four weeks, unless designated Reference or Special Collections. Please consult the use table for specific borrowing information.
