Searching by Author

Using Author Search, you can search by name for all kinds of individuals and organizations that helped to create the material we have in the Library. For example, use Author Search to look up names of:

  • authors
  • editors
  • illustrators
  • artists
  • translators
  • composers
  • performers
  • directors
  • producers
  • screen writers
  • actors
  • performing groups
  • government bodies
  • production companies

For individuals, enter the last name first (i.e., indirect order):

  • Oates, Joyce

For corporate names, use direct order:

  • American Chemical Society

If you enter a name that is not the form used in the catalog (e.g. Mendelssohn, Fanny), the catalog may guide you to the form it uses. These guides are called cross references. Click on the link in the cross reference to see what the catalog contains.

Mendelssohn Fanny 1805 1847 is not used in this library's catalog.
