Borrowing Library Materials Library patrons are responsible for returning borrowed materials in good condition. All materials must be returned by the due date. If library materials are lost or damaged the patron is liable for the replacement charge, the processing fee, and a non-refundable billing fee. The Librarian reserves the right to limit the number of items borrowed by a user at any one time. Some materials may renewed online at: https://ladd.bates.edu/patroninfo%7ES9/ Bates students, faculty, staff, alumni, and affiliates are issued Bates College identification cards. Courtesy Borrowers, Special Guests, and Dance Festival Faculty are issued special library cards. The special card is issued by the library Circulation staff. Government Documents may be borrowed by all citizens of the second congressional district.  For more information see: http://abacus.bates.edu/Library/resources/gov/just.shtml All patrons must present the I.D. card for circulation, reserve, and audio/video transactions. The I.D. card must also be presented when picking up Interlibrary Loan, MaineCat and Nexpress items.
