I run the introductory physics labs. I'm back at Bates after graduating from here many, many years ago.  Since graduating, I received a Master's degree in physics from UMass Amherst, and worked for a spell in industry analyzing the vulnerability of semiconductor devices to ionizing radiation.  I returned to Bates following eleven frenetic years teaching high school physics and chemistry.

Some recent projects I have worked on are external cavity diode lasers, ultrahigh vacuum chambers, an electron plasma trap, and lots of precision lens and mirror mounts.
