The Links Bar Menu allows you to use resources without the intervening step of returning to the Perseus Gateway with its links to these same resources.

Clicking and holding on "LINKS" in the Bar Menu will produce a pop-up menu in which these same resources are listed individually, classified as four kinds of links:

• "Enter Destination" is a wild card link! It allows you to specify any file or image in the Perseus database that you might want to see. You can use this to bypass the Perseus fill-in search forms when you already know (for example) exactly what image of a Greek vase or of a sculpture you want to study, and know the file name and location of that item. Normally, you would not know file names and locations unless your research was very advanced on that subject.

• The second zone is composed of links into the data bases for the various kinds of primary sources: Primary Texts and the included under "Art & Archeology" in the Perseus Gateway:
  1. Primary Texts
  2. Architecture
  3. Coins
  4. Sculpture
  5. Sites (i.e., archaeological sites)
  6. Vases

• The 3rd zone consists of links to reference tools to help you when you are studying any of the above primary sources, including
  1. Atlas
  2. Encyclopedia
  3. Greek-English Lexicon
  4. English-Greek Word List
  5. Historical Overview
  6. Sources Used (i.e., bibliography)

• The 4th zone is in effect an index -- a tool which searches for specific English or Greek words either in texts or in the descriptive cards which accompany every image. Unlike an index in a printed book, which only allows you to look up what the editor considered important enough to list there, this electronic index allows you to look up whatever YOU are interested in.

  This zone also includes a browser with a subject index for more general, topical searches (the "Object Keyword Search" tool).
