AUGUSTA, Maine - For the first time in school history, the Bates College women's cross country team won a meet with a perfect score, capturing the top five spots en route to a resounding victory at UMaine-Presque Isle Invitational at the Augusta Civic Center.

Leading the way in the Bobcats' first 15-point performance on the 20-year history of the program was junior All-New England performer Katie Parker (Williamstown, Mass.), who had her first career race victory with a time of 20:52. She was followed closely by first-year harrier Abby Anthony (Jamestown, R.I.), who ran 20:55 in her first collegiate competition.

Seniors Kate Burakowski (Derry, N.H.) and Kate Kenoyer (Whitefield, Maine), also running in their first collegiate competitions, placed third and fourth, finishing within four second of each other at 22:07 and 22:11, respectively. Senior captain Jessica Young (Thetford, Vt.) completed the Bobcat sweep by passing the only other contender in the final 100 yards to finish with a time of 22:20.
