GRAFTON, N.Y. -- With most of their top seven runners resting in anticipation of next week's NCAA qualifying meet, the Bates College women's cross country team placed 13th out of 35 teams at the ECAC Championships at Tufts' road course in Grafton, Mass. today.

The Bobcats showed excellent pack running, with six runner finishing within one minute of each other after Bobcat leader Elizabeth Wallace (Winthrop, Mass.), who took 62nd place with a time of 21:19 over the 5K course. Senior tricaptain Kirsten Tilney (Jackson, N.H.) placed 74th in 21:40. First-year runners Kelley Puglisi (Scotia, N.Y.) and Erin Cahill (Princeton, N.J.) finished close behind one another in 84th and 87th, respectively, seperated by three seconds. Sophomore Emily Schwartz (Needham, Mass.) rounded out the Bobcats' scoring in 94th place with a time of 22:05.
