LEWISTON, Maine — The Bobcats and Maine's other three outdoor track teams all competed at MIT on April 13, with the Bobcats finishing in fifth place with 84 points.

Junior Kelley Puglisi (Scotia, N.Y.) picked up her second win of the outdoor season, capturing the 1,500 meter run in 4:48.24 and qualifying for the ECAC and Open New England Championships in the process. Sophomore Julie Dutton (Londonderry, N.H.) placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:37.38, breaking her own school record by 14 seconds and improving her NCAA championship qualifying standard. Dutton is now 14th in the nation. This is the first year of the women's steeplechase at the NCAAs. Classmate Beth Pagnotta (Hooksett, N.H.) was fifth in the event in 12:15.69, qualifying for the ECAC and New England Division III meets.

Rookie Karissa Carey (E. Bridgewater, Mass.) and senior Jen Strahle (Ridgewood, N.J.) both recorded personal bests in the hammer throw, finishing fifth and sixth, respectively, as they each broke 138 feet to qualify for the ECACs and New Englands.
