BOBCATS BLOW OUT UNE, 7-0

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior Kate Dockery (New York, N.Y.) scored two of her three goals in the first half as the Bates Bobcats raced to a 5-0 lead on their way to a 7-0 non-conference victory over the University of New England.

First-year Katie Carroll (Pennington, N.J.) came off the bench to score a goal in each half for the Bobcats (2-0). Senior Heather Thomson (Warriors Mark, Pa.) and first-year Katey Szum (Amherst, N.H.) each found the back of the net in the first half, while senior Amanda Waterhouse (Cumberland, Maine) assisted on each of the first two goals.

Kim Martell (Needham, Mass.) and Lynne Antinarelli (Bedford, Mass.) split the game in goal for Bates and combined to make three saves. Senior Melissa Dolbec (Manchester, N.H.) and Jayne Tarkleson (Colebrook, N.H.) stopped three shots for UNE, which evened its record at 1-1.
