Bates 13, Wheaton 8

The Bates College women's lacrosse team (4-7) won its second straight road game, taking a 13-8 decision over Wheaton College. After a tight first half from which Bates emerged with a 5-4 lead, the Bobcats opened up the offense in the second, doubleing up the Lyons, 8-4.

Seven different Bates players scored goals, led by irst-year attack Erin Flynn (Newton, N.J.). Flynn who had been held scoreless for the first time all season the previous game against Colby, exploded for a career-high five goals and one assist for six points. Classmate Abbie Lusardi (Longmeadow, Mass.) and junior Amanda Schall (Chevy Chase, Md.) each had two goals. Bates junior goalkeeper Cil Bloomfield (Exeter, N.H.) made nine saves in the victory. The Bobcats outshot their opponents, 39-19.
