WOMEN'S LAX FALLS TO NATIONALLY-RANKED TRINITY, 14-7

(Taken from a Trinity College press release) HARTFORD, Conn. -- Senior co-captain Alix Johnston had four goals and one assist to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 14-7 win over the Bates College Bobcats in NESCAC women's lacrosse action this afternoon. The Bantams, ranked fourth nationally in Division III, improve to 7-0, while Bates falls to 2-4.

Trinity got off to a quick start and led 10-3 at the half. Bates played Trinity even in the second half, but could not get closer than four points the rest of the way. Senior co-captain Whitney Scarlett scored three times and assisted on two other goals to join Johnston with five points on the day. Junior goalie Katie Derosier turned in another stellar performance with 14 saves.

Jen Sall paced the Bobcats with a pair of goals, while Liz Coulson added one goal and one assist.
