DUTILLE, KING LEAD BATES OVER COLBY

WATERVILLE, Maine - Bates College sophomore Katy Dutille (Lebanon, N.H.) scored 30 points and grabbed seven rebounds while junior Emily King (Lebanon, N.H.) struck for 22 points and nine boards as the Bobcats overpowered Colby College by a score of 95-79 in women's basketball action on Tuesday night.

After Bates jumped out to a quick 17-6 lead, Colby came back behind sophomore guard Kim Condon (Presque Isle, Me.), who scored nine of her 21 points in the first half to give the Mules a brief 26-25 advantage. However, the Bobcats finished the half with an impressive 15-2 run to take a 40-28 lead into the locker room.

The second half belonged to Dutille, who scored 24 points in the final frame, 13 of which came at the free throw line. Colby did get to within eight with 15 minutes left in the contest, but Bates was too strong down the stretch, pulling away for the 95-79 victory.

Jolene Thurston (Post Mills, Vt.) and Sarah Williamson (Plainfield, N.J.) each added 14 points for Bates (20-3), while Colleen McCrave (Walpole, Mass.) dished out a game-high 11 assists.
