McLAUGLIN, DOCKERY LEAD BATES PAST TRINITY, 88-72

HARTFORD, Conn. — Senior forward Kate McLaughlin (Laconia, N.H.) and junior guard Kate Dockery (New York, N.Y.) combined for 46 points, 26 rebounds, and 12 assists to lead the visiting Bates College Bobcats to an 88-72 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's basketball action this afternoon. Trinity falls to 5-10 and 0-4 in the NESCAC with its sixth consecutive loss, while the Bobcats improve to 10-6 and 2-1 in the league with their first win in the last three games.

Bates used an 18-3 that lasted from the final minutes of the first half into the early second half to overcome an early Trinity lead. The Bantams were ahead 32-26 with three minutes remaining in the first half when Bates began their run. The Bobcats went ahead 44-35 early in the second half before Trinity cut the lead back to six points. Bates controlled the game the rest of the way, never leading by less than six points.

McLaughlin had 24 points, sinking 10 out of 17 field goal attempts, 19 rebounds, and five assists, while Dockery totaled 22 points, seven boards, and seven assists for the Bobcats.

Trinity senior guard Jackie Siscone (Hammonton, N.J.) finished a rebound and an assist away from a triple-double with 20 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists for Trinity. She made five out of 13 shots from three-point range. Sophomore center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, Mass.) notched 22 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks, and junior guard Liz Bontempo (Granby, Mass.) scored 11 points with three three-pointers off the bench for the Bantams.
