BATES VOLLEYBALL DOWNS ST. JOSEPH'S IN THREE STRAIGHT

LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College volleyball team (18-5), ranked No. 6 in New England, improved to 6-0 this season against teams from Maine today with a 3-0 win over St. Joseph's College (3-19).

The Bobcats breezed through Game One, 15-2. The Monks held tough in Game Two, taking an early 5-1 lead and staying with a couple of points until 12-12, when the Bobcats finished them off. Game Three saw the Bobcats get of to a swift start thanks to the serving of junior middle hitter Lisa Dulude (Wellesley, Mass.), who served the first 10 points of the game. Bates completed the sweep, 15-6, in the third game.

Dulude led the Bobcats with nine service aces, while first-year outside hitter Liz Wanless (Belleville, Ill.) had eight kills and senior Amanda Webb (E. Greenbush, N.Y.) had seven. The Bobcats are next in action this weekend at Connecticut College.
