1998 Bates College Softball

UNE 12, Bates 4

(taken from a UNE press release)The University of New England Nor'easters (4-6) utililtzed an 11-hit attack to take a 12-4 softball victory over the Bates College Bobcats (0-1)in a game halted in the sixth inning because of the eight-run rule.

After Bates scored in the top of the first, the Nor'easters plated five in the bottom of the inning, taking advantage of two Bates errors. UNE ended the game with five runs in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double.

First year infielder Laura Lent (Clinton, Mass.) had two hits for Bates.
