Salisbury State Seagull Invitational BATES SOFTBALL DROPS TWO AT SALISBURY STATE TOURNAMENT SALISBURY, Md. The Bates College softball team (0-4) dropped its first two games today in the Sea Gull Invitational hosted by Salisbury University. The Bobcats fell to Western Maryland College, 6-2, in the opener. They dropped a 3-0 decision in the second contest against Virginia Wesleyan College. Bates fell behind, 3-0, after two innings against Western Maryland. The Bobcats answered with RBI singles in the third inning from sophomore rightfielder Sarah Levine (Leeds, Mass.) and catcher Cami Dyson (Arvada, Colo.). The Green Terror added two more in the fifth inning and one more in the seventh to take the 6-2 decision. Despite outhitting Virginia Wesleyan, 7-5, in the second game, the Bobcats could not put together a scoring rally, falling 3-0. The Marlins scored all three runs in the fourth inning off rookie hurler Sarah Klenakis (Springfield, Mass.). Dyson had another two-hit game for the Bobcats, while Levine also had a pair of singles.
