BATES AND COLBY SPLIT SOFTBALL TWINBILL

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Colby College softball team split a double header with Bates College Saturday afternoon on Crafts Field.

In the opener, Colby scored all six runs in the second inning, highlighted by a two run home run by Marcy Wagner (Norton, Mass.). Ginger Walsh (Hopkinton, N.H.) took the loss for the Bobcats, Alexis Grant (Glenmont, N.Y.) got the win for the Mules. Steph Greenleaf (Gardiner, Maine) pitched two innings of relief for the Mules to get the save.

The second game was also decided with a big inning. This time Bates struck for five runs in the third on just three hits and one Colby error. Krissie Whiting (Contoocook, N.H.) went the distance for Bates to collect the win. Stacy Thurston (Post Mills, V.T.) absorbed the loss for the Mules.
