WOMEN'S LAX EARNS SIXTH SEED IN NESCAC TOURNEY
Bobcats travel to No. 3 Williams, May 1 at 4 p.m.

LEWISTON, Maine — he Bates College women's lacrosse team has earned the sixth seed in the inaugural New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tournament. The Bobcats (9-6, 3-6 NESCAC) will travel to No. 3 seed Williams College (9-2, 7-2 NESCAC) for their opening-round contest, to be played on Tuesday, May 1 at 4 p.m.

The Bobcats are led by a balanced scoring attack that features five players with at least 20 goals. Senior attack wing Erin Flynn of Newton, N.J., tops the list with 33 goals. Earlier this season, Flynn became the third player in Bates history to score 100 career goals and currently has 130 for her career. Hoping to join Flynn on Bates' 100-career point list is classmate Jen Sall of Gladwyne, Pa. Sall is the team's leading scorer with 26 goals and 16 assists for 42 points. She is one point shy of 100 for her career.

The Bobcats will face coach Wynn Hohlt's alma mater in Williams, hoping to get her first career lacrosse victory over the Ephs. Williams is led by junior Heather Black's 25 goals and 15 assists for 40 points, and sophomore goalkeeper Abi Jackson, who is second in the conference with a 5.44 goals against average. Williams won the regular-season meeting between the two teams, 18-6, in Lewiston.

Other first-round matchups in the NESCAC tournament feature No. 2 Amherst (12-1, 8-1) hosting No. 7 Connecticut College (6-8, 3-6) and No. 4 Colby (8-4, 5-4) hosting No. 5 Tufts (8-4, 4-5). Top-seeded Middlebury (11-0, 9-0) will host the tournament semifinals and finals on May 5 and 6.
