HAGSTROM FEATURED IN SPORTS ILLUSTRATED

LEWISTON, Maine - Bates College senior volleyball player Kate Hagstrom of Portola, Calif., will be featured in the "Faces In the Crowd" section of the October 23 issue of Sports Illustrated magazine.

Hagstrom, a setter, is the defending NESCAC volleyball Player of the Year. She recently became the fourth woman in NCAA Division III history to record her 400th career service ace. Following the Bobcats' 3-1 win over Colby Oct. 18, Hagstrom had 80 aces for the season and 445 for her career. The Bobcats are 22-5 in 2000 and tied for first place in the NESCAC.

The issue of Sports Illustrated arrived in the mail of subscribers Thursday, Oct. 19, and will be on newsstands nationwide the following Monday.
