BOSTON, Mass. -- Competing against one of the strongest fields they will see all season, the Bates College men's cross country team had an impressive performance at Open New England Championships, placing 10th overall and third among Division III teams, their best performance under fifth-year head coach Al Fereshetian.

Senior Mike Danahy (So. Windsor, Conn.) continued his impressive performance this season, finishing fifth with a time of 24:24. The finish was the second-best ever at the Open New England meet by a Bobcat harrier, behind John Fitzgerald '87. His time was the fastest by a Bobcat on the current layout of the Franklin Park course. Classmate Matt Twiest (Albuquerque, N.M.) also earned All-New England honors with a top-25 finish with a time of 24:58. Click here for complete results
