Men's Soccer

The Bates College men's soccer team recently spent 11 days in Great Britain. They played four matches against English and Scottish teams, attended three professional matches and toured two other football stadiums, as well as many other historic sites around the two countries.

The final match of the trip was played on Astroturf at the Maryhill Science Park, where the team was staying. Here, senior goalkeeper Brian Anton takes a goal kick.

Trickett settles a ball against Knightsbridge, the Scottish under-21 amateur league champs. The teams tied, 1-1.

Glasgow Celtic and Dundee United take the field for a Scottish Premier League game. Before the kick-off, the teams stood or a moment of silence in memory of those killed at the Omagh bombing. Celtic, the defending league champs, scored twice in the final 15 minutes for a 2-1 win.
