PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Bates College men's lacrosse team (8-4) started a stretch of four games in seven days successfully today, traveling to Plymouth, N.H., to pick up a 12-10 nonconference win over Plymouth State College (8-5). The Bobcats, ranked 13th in the most recent New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) poll, were led by sophomore attack Dave Frederick (Hartford, Conn.), who scored a career-high five goals while dishing out two assists for seven points. Frederick entered the game 20th in the nation averaging 2.63 assists per game. Classmate Jack Sandler (Hicksville, N.Y.), who had three goals against the Panthers, ranks 13th in the NCAA averaging 3.75 goals per game. Senior netminder David Pillsbury (Gill, Mass.) made 18 saves for the victory. His 7.27 goals-against average leads the NESCAC. The Bobcats raced out to a 5-2 lead after one period and extended it to 8-4 by halftime.
