LEWISTON, Maine -- All 11 members of the Bates College men's basketball team scored points as Bobcats came one point shy of setting a school record for points in a game with a 125-80 victory over the Maine Maritime Academy.

Six different Bates players scored in double figures, led by first year center Alex Wilson's (Duxbury, Mass.) 22 points and first-year guard Billy Hart's (Haverhill, Mass.) 21 points. Senior captain Garth Timoll (Owings Mills, Md.) had 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, with 12 in the first half, while sophomore foraward Rommel Padonou (Libreville, Gabon) had his fifth straight double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. First year forward Ed Walker (Roxbury, Mass.) had 16 points and a game-high eight assists, including a beautiful alley-oop to Padonou in the second half. First-year guard Matt Moulis (Concord, N.H.) rounded out the Bobcats in double figures with 15 points off the bench on five for six shooting from beyond the 3-point arc.

Maine Maritime (4-4) was led by junior Ken Buttery (Thorndike, Maine) who 20 points and classmate Matt Ketchen (Mt. Desert, Maine), who had 13. The Mariners hit just six of 39 3-point field goals in the game.

Bates (5-2) eclipsed the 100-point mark for the second time this season, just missing the school record of 126 points set in the 1991-92 season against Colby-Sawyer College. The Bobcats shot a scorching 70.3 percent from the field in the second half (26 of 37). With their 5-2 start, the Bobcats hit the semester break with their best record since 1995-96.
