Sophomore forward Rommell Padonou (Libreville, Gabon) scored 27 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds as the Bates College Bobcats (2-1) won their second road game of the season, 75-65, over the Gordon College Fighting Scots (0-4).

Padonou continued his hot shooting, hitting 12 of 18 shots from the floor. Senior captain Garth Timoll (Owings Mills, Md.), playing in his first game of the season, grabbed 12 rebounds, all on the defensive end. First-year forward Ed Walker (Roxbury, Mass.) had 18 points, including a perfect six for six from the line, plus three steals, while classmate Alex Wilson (Duxbury, Mass.) had 17 points and six rebounds.
