Junior Nick Brunero (West Warwick, R.I.) paced the Bobcats with a 77, tying him for second place with four others, two strokes off the lead, as the Bates College men's golf team placed fifth in a field of nine teams at the Terrier Invitation hosted by Thomas College at the Samoset Resort in Rockland. First-year gofler Sam Kieley (Edina, Minn.) shot an 80, landing him just out of the top 10.
The Bobcats were within five strokes of CBB rivals Colby and Bowdoin. They will get another shot at the Mules and the Polar Bears this weekend at the Bowdoin Invitational
