WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- After tremenous rain washed out the second day of competition, the Bates College golf team tied for ninth at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships for the second year in a row.

The Bobcats were led by 1998 All-NESCAC golfer, senior Nick Brunero (West Warwick, R.I.), who tied for 24th with an 82. Classmate Forgan McIntosh (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) finished second on the team, tying for 33rd place with an 84.

The women's tournament, which did not sponsor a team championship, saw first-year golfer Melissa Wilcox (Glastonbury, Conn.) placed fourth overall, shooting a 79 though 15 holes, when the tournament was called due to darkness.

The Bobcats and Springbrook Golf Course host the 199 CBB championships on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
