WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Bates College golf team was unable to defend its 1999 CBB title, falling to third place in the conference. The Bobcats were led by third-place finisher Andy Kadin (Short Hills, N.J.), who shot an 80. Senior Dave Vensel (Watertown, Conn.) and sophomore Doug Aho (Congers, N.Y.) each tied for fifth with an 82.

In the first ever CBB women's championship, sophomore Melissa Wilcox (Glastonbury, Conn.) also placed third, behind two Colby players on their home course. Rookie Daisy Fischer (New York, N.Y.) placed fourth.
