HURLEY RECORDS SECOND STRAIGHT HAT TRICK IN 4-2 WIN OVER CONN. COLLEGE

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Bates sophomore forward Ginny Hurley (Revere, Mass.) recorded her second hat trick in as many game to lead the Bobcats to a 4-2 victory over the host Connecticut College Camels.

Hurley, who scored three goals in Wednesday's game with Plymouth State College, put Bates ahead with an unassisted goal just 4:08 into the contest, while junior Abby Lenhart (Bethesda, Md.) extended the margin with 7:43 left in the first half. The Camels answered 40 seconds later on a goal by sophomore midfielder Molly McAuliffe (Yarmouthport, Mass.) and tied the game early in the second half when senior Brett Wiss (Dingman's Ferry, Pa.) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season just 2:22 after halftime.

The Bobcats responded, as Hurley tied the game just over two minutes later. Hurley completed the hat trick, giving the Bobcats some breathing room at the 21:56 mark.

The win was the Bobcats' ninth in their last 10 contests. The last time Bates won nine games in a season was 1984. The Bobcats will go for their first 10-win season since 1983 against Southern Maine on Tuesday.
