BOBCATS DROP 1-0 DECISION AT GORDON

WENHAM, Mass. -- The Bates College field hockey team (1-6) traveled to Gordon College and dominated the game in every aspect but one, falling 1-0 to the host Fighting Scots (7-1).

Bates owned a 17-4 shooting advantage and a 23-4 margin in penalty corners but were never able to find the back of the net. Gordon's lone goal came with 7:10 left in the first half on a goal by senior forward Tenny Mentus. Gordon goalkeeper Brianna Riddell kept the Scots in the game with 14 saves. Bates junior Lindsay Gary (Del Mar, Cal.) made two saves in the losing effort. The win for Gordon was just their third in 19 meetings with the Bobcats.
