Tufts 3-9, Bates 0-3

The Bobcats (0-6) dropped a doubleheader to perrenial regional power Tufts (10-6), losing a pitcher's duel in the opener, 3-0, and dropping a 9-3 decision in the second game. Senior pitcher Dan Chisholm (Westfield, Mass.) held the Jumbos to just three runs on eight hits in first game, but the Bobcats were held to just three hits. In the second game, the Bobcats got off to a great start when senior first baseman Chris Snow (Tewksbury, Mass.) knocked his first career home run in the top of the first inning. The three-run shot gave Bates the lead, but the Jumbos answered with four in the bottom of the inning, including another three-run homer. The Bobcat offense was silenced, getting just one hit over the last six innings. Bates faces Maine-Presque Isle for two games tomorrow.
